Welcome to Bracken Leas Primary School.

Welcome to Bracken Leas Primary school. We are a large school catering for 400 pupils; the vast majority of pupils join the Bracken Leas family in Early Years and stay with us until the end of their journey in Year 6. Every child is valued as an individual with unique strengths and talents and we ensure that every child feels nurtured, encouraged, safe and happy at school.

The ABLE ethos sits at the heart of everything we do at Bracken Leas: Achieve, Believe, Learn, Enjoy. There is a shared understanding that all children are able to fulfill their potential through high quality teaching and excellent pastoral care. We have the highest expectations for all our pupils to have ambition in all they do and to work hard to achieve their goals. We strongly believe that learning should be fun and aim to provide a rich, varied and creative curriculum for all pupils to enjoy.

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision and we welcome visits to see us in action. Our children are our greatest ambassadors and would love to show you their school! I am always available to talk to any prospective or current parent, so if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Enjoy looking around our website for further information and I look forward to meeting you soon.

Mrs Paula Harwood – Head Teacher

“My child’s teacher is always there if I need to raise any concerns. She supports my child well.”

“I like that the teachers help and make me feel safe and that I have lots of friends. I have been here for seven years now and I have not had many problems. If I have, the children and teachers help.”

“For Early Years I feel that the children are well looked after and gently encouraged to find their own potential and confidence.”

“I’m really impressed with the change in the school already. The quality of teaching has always been high but my children are more motivated than ever and love the new ways in which they are taught. When I asked them for feedback to pass on they both said they love school and that they are very happy. Thank you!”
