Cycling Safety

It has come to our attention that there have been a number of incidents involving cyclists over the last few weeks. Bikability sessions are taking place for our Year 6 children and this should help them to learn more about safety. However as a parent please ensure the following if your child is cycling too and from Bracken Leas:

  • Your child’s bike is in road worthy condition
  • Your child is wearing a wearing a cycle helmet and has the correct cycling equipment (e.g. Lights for darker evenings)
  • Children are not trying to carry items on their handle bars when riding their bikes to and from school
  • Children use their road sense to ensure that they are riding safely
  • Children should not be riding on pavements, unless via a designated cycle route.

Please talk to your children about bike safety, we want everyone to stay safe.
