It is the end of the first day back in school for many of our Early Years, Year 1 and Year 6 children. Although, things have been a little different from school ‘pre-Coronavirus’, everyone has settled in remarkably well to the new ways of working.

We are working to co-ordinate activities in school with those of our children still learning at home and have a couple of events planned over the next few weeks. This will include supporting Alzheimer’s research Cupcake Day and National Writing Day. More information will follow on both of these soon.

In school the children have been working on their carnival masks. These will be displayed in the windows of The Old Fire Station from the middle of next week. There have also been some great creations made at home, we would love to see more of these on the Facebook Home Learning Zone. They can also be included in our display if they can be brought to school at the beginning of next week. Photos as the children’s creations will be posted following installation.

Mrs Harwood has written a letter to all of the children at our school today. Here is a link in case you have missed it.Β

Twitter

Have you signed upΒ to follow us @brackenleas1? Every week we use social media to keep parents and carers informed about what is happening at our school. Our Twitter feed is the simplest way for you to receive up to the minute information, photos, links and notifications. It is also FREE to use. Twitter is our preferred method of communication for this reason. The alternative is text messages to parents which incurs considerable cost to the school each year. Please Click here to follow a few simple steps and sign up to follow us on Twitter. Make us a favourite and receive instant notifications every time we Tweet. In this way you can help us minimise the cost of expensive text options.

Our Twitter Feed can also be viewed ‘live’ on the school website Home Page and News Page.
