Zebra Crossing Incident  -Pavillons Way

This week there was a serious incident at the Zebra Crossing. A child, correctly using the crossing, was almost involved in a collision with a car travelling up Pavillons Way. The child involved was shaken but unharmed and the incident has been reported to the police and our local MP. Teaching staff are re-iterating the importance of using the crossing correctly within class. We would appreciate it if you as parents could also do this with your children. We also ask that you drive considerately when dropping off and collecting children from school and do not park on the zigzags leading up to the crossing.

At all crossings. When using any type of crossing you should;

  • always check that the traffic has stopped before you start to cross or push a pram onto a crossing
  • always cross between the studs or over the zebra markings. Do not cross at the side of the crossing or on the zigzag lines, as it can be dangerous.

You MUST NOT loiter on any type of crossing.
