On Monday 16th & Tuesday 17th November* we will be collecting festive goodies to make up hampers for St Rumbold’s Court. As many of you know we paired up with this care home earlier in the year during Lockdown 1.0. Unfortunately, we were unable to make foodbank donations at Harvest Time as we had in previous years and we hope that you will support Brackley Christmas Boxes as our choice for this year.

*In order to comply with Covid quarantine restrictions we are unable to accept and further donations after these dates.Β

We are asking everyone to bring in 1 item via their class teacher. This will then be placed in a shopping trolley and be quarantined for 72 hours. At the end of next week our Year 6 House Captains and a small number of staff will make them up into large hampers. They will then be quarantined once more over the weekend and prior to any delivery being made.

If you would like to make, or simply write, a Christmas Card too that would be very well recveived. Make sure you include a name and address inside your card if you would like a response.

Below is a list of suggested items, please remember that many elderly people live alone and so items suitable for an individual or a couple are ideal.

Item Suggestions;

  • Mince Pies – Year 3 & 4 Only (You may also choose an alternative to this if you would like.)
  • Small Christmas Pudding
  • Box or bar of chocolate
  • Small Christmas Cake or other festive cakes
  • Savory nibbles
  • Biscuits
  • A bottle of something nice to drink
  • Toiletries or toiletry sets such as hand creams, bubble bath etc
  • Anything else that you think an elderly person might enjoy receiving.

We look forward to sharing pictures of the finished hampers with you soon.
