STAY AND PLAY : Thursday 3rd September/ Friday 4th September

One of 4 sessions has been allocated to you for a Stay and Play Session this week as previously communicated. If you are unsure of the session allocated to you and your child please call the school office on 01280 707050.

Key Points for your child’s Stay & Play Session;

● Only ONE adult with each child. We know that many of you may have liked to come as a family, but I am sure you understand that in the current climate we have to minimise the number of people in the school at any one time. This does also mean that unfortunately we will be unable to accommodate any siblings at this time.

Everyone will be asked to hand gel on entry (both adults and children).

● The main playground gates will open at the start of the session and you will be welcomed by the Early Years Team at the outdoor rainbow fence area.

● We are very lucky to have large classroom spaces, with multiple stations for the children to work at. During the stay and play, each station (table or classroom area) will be set to accommodate just one child and their parent. You are welcome to move through the area, exploring with your child and you can move out to the other outdoor courtyard area also. Please stick to this, and do not mix at stations; this will allow us to maximise social distancing. Please hand gel after each activity. Obviously, we want the children to see each other and to begin to interact so please encourage them to say hello and talk to their friends and meet the Early Years Team.

● Please be prompt and keep to timings, when arriving at the school please follow the one-way system.

● The classroom will be kept well ventilated at all times.

● Children are to come to school in their uniform. Please do not bring any other belongings on this day.

Sessions Week Commencing 7th September

During these sessions, we will be encouraging the children to stay at school by themselves; we know this will be a big step for them and we will be there to support them with this.

The children will need to be dropped off and picked up at the classroom gate- guidance states ‘parents and carers should not be allowed in the setting unless this is essential.

Children should be dropped off and collected at the door’. If your child is struggling with separation in the morning, please wait with them in the outdoor area and try to calm them. When a member of staff is able to, they will come and support you with this. It would be a good idea to talk through with your child that you will walk to the door together then say goodbye, so that their expectations are managed from the start.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hold lengthy conversations during drop off and collection times.

We are always here to listen

We are always here for you and you can speak to us in the following ways:

On the door- should you wish to talk for longer, please wait until children have been dismissed and there is an adult free to talk to you.

By appointment- you can call the school office at any time, they will support you with any enquiries and/or arrange an appropriate time for a member of staff to call you or meet with you. Call us on 01280 707050 to make an appointment.

Start & Finish Times – Early Years Children

In order to ensure safety on the school site we will be staggering start and end times for all children. This will be reviewed at half term. From September the following applies to Early Years:

Morning Entry – 8:40am – 8.50am

Children will enter via the double pedestrian gate on Pavillions Way. Please follow the one way yellow line to the rainbow fence.

End of Day – 3:10pm (from Week Commencing 21st September)

Please ensure that you are prompt for drop off and collection, this allows us to ensure the safety of all of our families. An adult must collect children. If this is not going to be their parent, please let a member of staff know or call the school office on 01280 707050.
