Over the last couple of weeks our early years children have been finding out about people who help us. This topic has been planned to coincide with visits from the school nurse this week. On Monday they were very excited to receive a visit from two Thames Valley Police Officers and their police car!
They all listened carefully as the officers talked about their jobs and all of the ways which they can help us. They also showed the children their uniforms and the equipment. At the end of the talk, the children were given the opportunity to ask questions. Finally, everyone was allowed to sit inside the police car and look at all of the buttons and controls, even Year 1 and 2 got to take a look.
This week the children have been learning about Doctors and Nurses and making their own medical bags. They have created some great fire engine art work, been asking lots of questions and learning new things such as that the police have horses! In the last couple of days they have been thinking about what they would like to be when they grow up.
