We have ambitious plans, and work is already underway, to improve and upgrade our Eco Area at the bottom of the school field. This area, which includes a pathway which joins our school to Stepping Stones, is used daily for wrap around care provision. It is brilliantly located for creating a fabulous outdoor learning environment for both settings.

Working together with Stepping Stones, the Early Years team are working very hard to provide a stimulating environment, which will be used by both Stepping Stones and Bracken Leas children. This is a very big project and we are looking for volunteers to get involved in helping us to create this.

The upgraded area will include;

  • New Entrance Archway

  • Mounds and Tunnels for Exploring

  • Den Building Area

  • Mud Kitchen Area

  • Vegetable Garden and ‘Digging’ Area

  • Butterfly and Sensory Area

  • Story Time and Fire Pit Area surrounded by blossom trees

  • Mini ‘Trim Trail’ to complement the new Adventure Playground.

Mrs Hancock is currently undertaking ‘Forest School Training’ which will enable us to deliver exciting and engaging outdoor learning opportunities here at Bracken Leas.

Below are some images to illustrate our ‘vision’ for the area.
