As Autumn approaches it is time to think about Harvest at Bracken Leas. We will be inviting Early Years and year 1 parents in to school for 2 Harvest Assemblies on the 14th October (2pm) and 15th October (9.30). The children will perform some Harvest Songs for you, this is always a lovely event in school.
Alongside our assemblies we will be holding a Harvest Collection. This year we are collecting for Helping You Live who support a number of families in need within Brackley. You can find out more about the work Claire Readman does by following her on the Helping You Live Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/helpingyoulivepage
Week Commencing 11th October we will be collecting food items and treats to create hampers for these families. We will be asking each year group to donate different items in order that we can provide a variety of items to Helping You Live. These will be collected each day in shopping trolleys within the school playground. Our Head Boys, Girls and House Captains will then assist with sorting and packing.
IF THE TROLLIES ARE NOT OUT IN THE PLAYGROUND YOUR CHILD MAY BRING THEIR ITEM TO THE CLASSROOM.
Please bring in the following items as specified for your child’s year group:
EYFS – Pasta & rice
Year 1 – Tinned/bottled savoury items (Baked beans, tinned veg, ketchup ETC)
Year 2 – Tinned/jarred fruit
Year 3 – Tinned/packet/pot puddings (jelly, custard, Angel Delight etc)
